Privacy Policy
Watches your battery. Nothing else.
Battery Watcher is built so there is almost nothing to say here, and we'd rather say it plainly than bury it.
Last updated: June 20, 2026
Information we collect
None. Battery Watcher does not collect personal data of any kind. There is no sign-up, no profile, no telemetry, and no usage analytics. We have no servers that could receive your data because the app never contacts a server.
Data stored on your device
Your preferences, including warning thresholds, quiet-hours schedule, sound choices, and similar settings, are saved locally on your Mac using the standard macOS preferences system (UserDefaults). This information stays in your app's sandbox container and is never transmitted anywhere. Battery readings (percentage, temperature, charge state) are read live from your hardware, shown to you, and never recorded or sent.
No network access
The app requests no network entitlement and makes no outbound connections. It cannot send data off your device even in principle. That's also why a few readings (such as maximum capacity) can differ by about a percentage point from System Settings. We use only the sandbox-safe, on-device power APIs rather than privileged system tools.
Purchases
The optional one-time Pro upgrade is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple ID. The app only learns whether a valid Pro entitlement exists for this device, which Apple manages on our behalf.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, alerts are delivered locally through macOS Notification Center. They are generated on your Mac and are not push notifications. No remote server is involved, so no device token or identifier leaves your machine.
No tracking, analytics, or advertising
Battery Watcher contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics, no crash-reporting services, no advertising, and no tracking technologies. It ships with an Apple privacy manifest declaring its single data-relevant behavior: storing your own settings locally.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. It is suitable for users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we'll update it here and revise the date above. Since the app collects nothing, we don't anticipate meaningful changes unless a future feature requires them, and any such feature would be described plainly.
